It seems like it has become a trademark for millennials to be a generational scapegoat for all that’s wrong in the world. While that sentiment is not one that this writer shares, it does appear that more unfortunate evidence has surfaced that points to the shortcomings of this younger generation. Hopefully Dr. Norton, your gentle dentist in Gilbert, can prevent our millennial patients into not falling into the same category as those surveyed in the study below.
Participants in a recent study who were between 18-24 years old responded that they prioritized the use of the dating app “Tinder” over the brushing of their teeth. The older portion of the surveyed group (between the ages of 25-34 years old) showed a bit more promise, reporting that they brush twice a day, but 1/5 of that group still claimed they often missed brushing at least once. The 18-24 age group responded that they spend under 60 seconds brushing their teeth.
The ironic twist to this story is that if you are in fact so consumed with dating apps that you don’t bother brushing your teeth adequately, your dating life might not be so successful. Brushing your teeth twice daily for at least 2 minutes will dramatically improve your dental health and prevent your smile from deteriorating. Contact you Gentle Dentist in Gilbert, Dr. Norton at Lifetime Family Dental to make sure your smile’s strength equals that of your dating profile!
